CTO For Hire was engaged by an established software development agency to act as Engineering Manager for a growing delivery team. In this 0.8 FT capacity role, CTO For Hire acted as internal Engineering Manager in the agency, who in turn provided services to their client; a reputable HRTech scaleup business.

During the engagement, CTO For Hire provided:

  • 1-on-1 coaching and line management of 10+ on-field team members, split across 4 workstreams with the client.
  • Led complex client stakeholder management through the full “start, deliver, finish” lifecycle.
  • Technical & cultural interviews of senior and lead level roles to meet client growth expectations.
  • Led new employee onboarding for agency & client environments; living, leading and communicating cultural norms and expectations.
  • Managed risks, escalations & performance challenges of team members.

At the conclusion of this engagement:

  • The agency's teams were some of the most reliable and highest impact outcome teams in the client organisation.
  • The client became a reference customer for the agency off the back of the success.
